This Acceptable Use Policy describes the rules governing use of BMLSites' website builder platform, APIs, hosting infrastructure, and all associated services (collectively, "the Services"). This policy applies to all users, including tenants, tenant users, and visitors.
This AUP is incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using our Services you agree to both documents.
2. Permitted Use
You may use BMLSites' Services to:
- Build and host a professional website for your business, organisation, or personal brand.
- Publish lawful content including text, images, and media that you own or have rights to use.
- Process legitimate payments from customers through our integrated payment gateways.
- Communicate with your customers via contact forms and email tools provided on the platform.
- Resell BMLSites-powered websites to your clients through our authorised agency partner programme.
3. Prohibited Activities
You must not use our Services for any of the following:
Zero Tolerance: The following activities will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
- Illegal Content: Hosting, distributing, or linking to any content that violates applicable local or international law.
- Child Exploitation: Any content that exploits, harms, or endangers children in any form.
- Phishing & Fraud: Creating fake or deceptive websites designed to steal personal information, credentials, or funds from unsuspecting users.
- Malware Distribution: Uploading or distributing viruses, ransomware, spyware, or any malicious code.
- Spam & Unsolicited Communication: Sending unsolicited mass emails or messages through our platform.
- Intellectual Property Infringement: Publishing content that infringes on copyright, trademark, patent, or other IP rights.
- Harassment & Hate Speech: Publishing content that harasses individuals or promotes hatred based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
- Platform Abuse: Attempting to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or platform restrictions through technical means.
- Cryptocurrency Mining: Using our infrastructure for unauthorised cryptocurrency mining.
- Data Scraping: Automated scraping of BMLSites or tenant websites without written authorisation.
4. Content Standards
All content published on websites hosted through BMLSites must:
- Be accurate and not intentionally misleading.
- Comply with applicable advertising standards and regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Not impersonate any individual, company, or brand without permission.
- Include appropriate age-gating where required by law (e.g. for alcohol, adult content where legally permitted).
5. Resource Usage
You agree not to use excessive server resources in a way that negatively impacts other users on our shared infrastructure. This includes:
- Running resource-intensive scripts or processes not related to serving your website.
- Deliberately generating excessive traffic to consume bandwidth.
- Storing files unrelated to your website operations (e.g. using storage as a personal cloud backup service).
6. Security Obligations
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential and not sharing them.
- Promptly notifying BMLSites if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Not attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without written authorisation.
7. Enforcement & Consequences
BMLSites reserves the right to investigate potential violations of this AUP. Depending on the severity of the violation, we may take any of the following actions:
- Issue a formal warning and request you bring your account into compliance.
- Temporarily suspend access to your account pending investigation.
- Permanently terminate your account and all associated data.
- Report illegal activities to relevant law enforcement authorities.
- Seek legal remedies for damages caused by violations.
We will use reasonable judgment when determining whether a violation has occurred and what action to take. Our decisions are final.
8. Reporting Violations
If you believe a website hosted on BMLSites is in violation of this policy, please report it to us immediately at abuse@bmlsites.com. We investigate all credible reports and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We will notify users of material changes via email where practicable.
